Investigative Analytics
Some questions cannot be answered from an organization's own records.
01Overview
Through established partnerships, Acervus has access to a range of specialized commercial data sources not commonly available to investigators, counsel, or analysts. We apply these sources to specific, well-defined questions and deliver the results as analytical products, not raw data.
02How engagements work
- Define the question. Each engagement begins with a written statement of the investigative question, the authorized purpose, and the permitted use of results.
- Validate authority. We confirm the client's legal basis and permissible purpose before any source is queried.
- Analyze. Analysts correlate relevant sources, test the findings against each other, and document confidence and limitations.
- Deliver. Results are delivered as a written analytical product with methodology and sourcing notes suitable for review by counsel or supervisors.
03Who uses this capability
- Law enforcement and public-sector investigators
- Corporate and outside counsel
- Transaction and risk teams
04Governance
- Sources are licensed commercially and used within the terms of those licenses.
- Access is limited to vetted clients with a documented, lawful purpose. Requests outside that standard are declined.
- Every query is logged and attributable to an engagement.
